pushkin

The town of Pushkin is in 30 km from the city center.

This tour is a chance to see and admire Catherine Palace, the main palace of the country residence known as Tsarskoye Selo, set among beautiful parkland.

Originally built for the tsar Peter the Great's wife in 1723, the palace was enlarged in the middle of the 18th century by the architect Rastrelli in baroque style and became the favorite summer residence of the Russian Tsars.
During the reign of Catherine the Great the rooms in neo-classical style were added to the palace.

The gem of the palace is the Amber room, which was completely restored after the II World War.

Of special interest are the impressive Grand Hall and the Suite of Rooms, decorated with gilded carving and fine plaster work.

After the tour of the Palace you may enjoy the park.
